‘Assam to gain from

Arunachal projects’

ITANAGAR, Feb 16: With Rs 20,000-30,000 crores worth of projects coming up in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam’s economy stands to receive one-third of the amount as a downstream effect, Governor Gen (Retd) JJ Singh today said, seeking Assam’s cooperation in the early implementation of the Harmuti-Itanagar railway line.

During his interaction with railway officials at Harmuti railway station, the governor said there is need that Assam sees the project as its own and helps in its early implementation, especially in view of its importance to national security.

He also sought details of the broad gauge project from Rangiya to Murkongselek, saying it will have a direct impact on the economy of the people of Arunachal.  more
